Vehicle Description 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL550 $42,000 Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL550 Carlsson is a rare blend of German luxury, 1 of 25 ever made, and the first one, number 1, $53,000 build out in 2007. The 2007 Carlsson CK50 wasn't a standalone production car in the traditional sense - it was a high-performance tuning package created by the German Mercedes specialist Carlsson. V8 grand touring performance, high-end European tuning pedigree. Based on the flagship C216 CL-Class chassis, the Carlsson-enhanced version transforms the already sophisticated CL550 into an exclusive executive coupe with sharper styling, upgraded dynamics, and a far more commanding road presence than the standard factory car. This particular example, associated with stock number represents the type of bespoke luxury coupe that defined the late-2000s era of Mercedes-Benz engineering - a period when the CL-Class stood at the very top of the Mercedes personal luxury lineup. Carlsson is one of the most respected Mercedes-Benz tuning houses in Europe, known for enhancing Mercedes vehicles with subtle aggression rather than over-the-top styling. Carlsson cars are often compared to AMG products, but with a more exclusive and boutique approach. The result is a car that maintains Mercedes-Benz luxury and comfort while adding a more athletic stance and sharper personality. The C216 CL-Class remains one of Mercedes-Benz's cleanest modern coupe designs. Long doors, pillarless side windows, and sweeping body lines give the car a timeless presence. In Carlsson form, the styling becomes more purposeful thanks to aggressive lower valances, larger wheels, and a lowered ride height that visually tightens the proportions. Unlike many tuner cars of the era, the Carlsson modifications complement the original Mercedes design language rather than overpowering it. The CL550's wide stance, frameless windows, and elegant roofline still look contemporary today and continue to attract attention nearly two decades after production. Inside, the CL550 was engineered to rival ultra-luxury coupes costing substantially more. The cabin combines handcrafted materials, advanced technology, and exceptional comfort. The cabin remains whisper quiet at highway speeds, making the CL550 one of the finest long-distance touring coupes Mercedes ever produced. While the CL550 is undeniably luxurious, it is also surprisingly capable. The naturally aspirated V8 delivers smooth, linear acceleration with classic Mercedes torque delivery. Unlike many modern turbocharged engines, the M273 V8 feels effortless and refined. The Carlsson suspension upgrades sharpen handling response without ruining ride quality. Combined with Active Body Control suspension technology, the car corners flatter than expected for a coupe of its size. This is not a lightweight sports car - it is an autobahn cruiser built to cover miles at speed in complete comfort. The standard C216 CL550 has begun gaining appreciation among enthusiasts for its elegant design and overengineered feel. Carlsson-equipped examples are considerably rarer and appeal to collectors seeking something more distinctive than a factory AMG model. Low-production tuner Mercedes vehicles from companies like Carlsson, Brabus, Lorinser, and Renntech have developed increasing enthusiast interest due to their exclusivity and period-correct modifications. For enthusiasts who appreciate understated high-end German performance, the Carlsson-enhanced CL550 offers a compelling alternative to more common AMG models while delivering a far more exclusive ownership experience. It remains one of the most elegant modern Mercedes coupes ever produced - a true autobahn grand tourer with presence, performance, and rarity. number 1 of only 25 made Carlsson aerodynamic body enhancements Signature multi-piece Carlsson alloy wheels Lowered sport suspension tuning Performance exhaust upgrades Refined ECU tuning Unique badging Premium Nappa leather seating Heated and ventilated multi-contour seats Power rear sunshade COMAND navigation system Harman Kardon premium audio Night Vision Assist Soft-close doors Alcantara headliner
