Description
This 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP is here on consignment from a Lakewood Ranch local. After a recent surgery, she isn’t able to enjoy the car the way it deserves. She would rather see it go to someone who will. Hence the car is for sale. The story starts with the first owner. He worked in Pontiac’s research and development department and fell in love with the Solstice. He bought this one brand new, right off the showroom floor, and kept it for 14 years. Our seller and her husband lived in the same neighborhood. Every so often her husband would stop by to visit the original owner while he was detailing the Solstice in his garage. When arthritis finally caught up with the original owner, her husband was the one who bought it. The two shared this Solstice and loved it. That’s why letting it go is so bittersweet for her. From the research I’ve done, I’m told the GXP sat at the top of the Solstice lineup. The base Solstice came with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder making 177 horsepower. The GXP got a turbocharged 2.0-liter making 260 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. In plain terms, that’s about 80 more horsepower in a car that weighs nearly the same. Pontiac also gave the GXP bigger brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. A limited-slip differential and dual exhaust came standard too. This Solstice has the five-speed manual, the one driving enthusiasts look for. It shows 57,050 miles. Last December the paint was corrected and ceramic coated. You can see the result in the photographs. The car also has a handful of upgrades to sharpen the chassis. It has DDM Works front and rear stabilizers and a DDM Works driveshaft tunnel upgrade. It still has the stock air cleaner, and a matching cold air intake comes with the car. It rides on polished 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires that are only 10 months old. The GXP floor mats are still in place.
