Description
KEY FACTS A uniquely converted and highly distinctive open-top Defender, based on the lauded Land Rover Defender 110 Single Cab Pickup and transformed into an eight-seat convertible recreation inspired by the Bondi Edition concept. It is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged TDCi inline-four diesel engine, driving all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a dual-range transfer case. This example was originally registered on 31 December 2009 and was converted to its current specification during a comprehensive body-off rebuild in 2022/23, reportedly involving more than £40,000 of work. It was acquired by the seller in September 2024. The odometer shows 87,634 miles from new. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES This Defender has been extensively modified from its original single-cab pickup configuration into a bespoke eight-seat convertible with a full-width rear passenger compartment. The conversion included a replacement rear body, rear door and front wings, a bespoke eight-seat tan leather interior, and a soft-top roof and sticks set supplied by All Wheel Trim. It is finished in a bold shade of red, having received a full colour change from its original blue during the restoration, over a black cabin now featuring tan leather upholstery. Please note: an HPI check shows that the vehicle is painted blue, indicating that the colour change has not yet been reported to the DVLA. It rides on an aftermarket set of 17-inch Tuff Torque ‘imitation beadlock’ steel wheels finished in gloss-black and fitted with Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 285/70 R17 mud-terrain tyres Exterior features include a removable canvas roof, heavy-duty sills, uprated door hinges, black aluminium chequer plate protection on the bonnet, wings and rear quarters, +30mm wheel arch extensions, a KBX-style front grille, headlamp surrounds and wing vents, LED lighting including headlamps and front daytime running lights, Discovery 3/4-style side steps, Genuine Land Rover Classic mud flaps, a NAS-style rear
