The MB tech that services my vehicles got it to the lowered position. The cost for the part from MB is $1200 before considerable labor. To me, it was not worth tearing up the car for something I would never use. So it sits in the lowered position, inoperable. No need to go through the trouble of removing the wheel. I was just trying to figure out whether I'd need to replace them for a fly-in/drive home trip if they were the originals from 2009. Glad to know they were replaced within the last couple years.March 1st, 2023 at 5:11pm ESTPVNY (4) Seller 1Dante….the date codes are not on the outside of the tire. I have been looking at the whole diameter of the sidewall, and it’s not there. I just came back from the tire shop I used, and they think it’s on the inside. It is not after the DOT stamping. There are 2 four digit stampings that follow the DOT stamp, but they are related to the manufacturer and location. I would rather not remove the tire to look on the inside of the tire. I can send you pics if you want to look yourself, but the tire are from 2021, installed in August of 2021 at 10K miles. The car had the original tires on it when I bought it. I bought the same as OE. It was a mix of rendering issues apparently and the polarizing filter on my lens... The overcast day made it difficult to picture the dash correctly due to the led lights.
