Vehicle Description 2010 BMW Z4 $17,997 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive35i — Twin-Turbo Roadster with Power Retractable Hardtop Why This Car Is Special The 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive35i represents a significant turning point in the Z4's history. BMW completely redesigned the second-generation Z4 for 2009, and the big news was not just the new styling — it was the switch from a traditional soft top to a power retractable hardtop. For the first time, Z4 buyers got the open-air experience of a roadster combined with the structural rigidity, weather sealing, and cabin refinement of a coupe. That three-piece folding hardtop opens and closes in about 20 seconds and stows completely in the trunk. It was a genuine engineering achievement that changed the character of the car. The sDrive35i designation is the one you want. It identifies this car as the top non-M variant in the 2010 Z4 lineup, and it means this roadster left the factory with BMW's N54 engine under the hood. The N54 is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six that produces 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. BMW enthusiasts who followed the 135i and 335i already knew this engine well — it was the same unit that powered those cars and earned a reputation as one of the most tunable production engines BMW had built in years. Ward's Auto named the N54 to its 10 Best Engines list multiple times during this period. In stock form, it pulls cleanly from low rpm and delivers a linear surge of power through its mid-range that a naturally aspirated engine simply cannot replicate. This is not a base-model roadster with a warmed-over four-cylinder. It is a legitimate performance car dressed in a two-seat open-top body. At a sub-$18,000 price point, the 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive35i is one of the more compelling performance values currently available in the used market. You are getting a German-engineered twin-turbo roadster with a premium interior and a folding hardtop — the kind of car that cost over $50,000 new — at a fraction of its original MSRP. Features List - N54 3.0L Twin-Turbo Inline-Six, 300 horsepower - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - Power Retractable Hardtop - Dual Exhaust Outlets - Sport Alloy Wheels - Leather Bucket Seats in Cream Beige - Center Console - Power Windows - Tachometer - Air Conditioning - Multifunction Steering Wheel - iDrive Infotainment System Mechanical The N54 engine in this 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive35i is a twin-scroll, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with direct fuel injection. BMW rated it at 300 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque available from 1,400 rpm all the way to 5,000 rpm. That wide torque band is what makes the car feel so strong in everyday driving — you do not need to rev it out to access the power. The turbos spool quickly and the delivery is controlled rather than abrupt. The 6-speed automatic transmission paired here uses a torque converter and responds well to paddle or console-mounted manual inputs. BMW tuned this gearbox specifically for the Z4 application, and it manages the N54's torque output without drama. Some buyers will always prefer a manual in a roadster, and that is a fair preference — but this automatic does not compromise the car's performance credentials. Zero to 60 arrived in around 5.0 seconds when this car was new, which remains a respectable number well over a decade later. The Z4's suspension architecture uses a double-wishbone front setup and a five-link rear, both tuned to balance daily drivability with genuine handling capability. BMW kept the weight distribution close to 50/50, which gives the car neutral balance through corners. The dual exhaust outlets visible at the rear are functional, not decorative — the N54 benefits from the low-restriction dual-exit routing, and the note at full throttle reflects that. Interior Step inside the 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive35i and the Cream Beige leather interior immediately sets the right tone. The light-colored leather against the dark blue exterior creates a classic contrast that photographs well and feels airy
