Description
This 2010 Ducati Multistrada is one of three bikes to participate in Team Ducati’s record-setting runs at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, and is the only one said to remain in private hands. Powered by a 1,198cc Testastretta L-twin paired with a six-speed transmission, the motorcycle wears red and white-finished bodywork and a #555 racing number over a red-finished trellis frame. The bike rides on 17″ OZ Racing wheels, and further racing modifications include carbon-fiber trim, an Akrapovič two-into-one exhaust system, and triple disc brakes with Sicom carbon-ceramic rotors and Brembo calipers. It was decommissioned from racing in 2013 and subsequently fitted with a headlight, a taillight, DOT-compliant tires, rear turn signals, and passenger foot pegs. Acquired by the seller on BaT in March 2025 and previously listed on BaT in August 2025 , this Team Ducati Multistrada is offered at no reserve with authentication paperwork, removed parts, spare bodywork, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name. The bike first tackled the PPIHC in 2010 as #55 ridden by Alexander Smith, and it was subsequently displayed at Ducati Island during the Indianapolis MotoGP and Laguna Seca MotoGP events. Smith campaigned it again in 2011 as #55 when he lost control during pre-race testing, and its post-crash trajectory earned it the moniker “Lawn Dart.” It was recommissioned in preparation for the 2011 PPIHC, where it finished in third place. The bike currently wears the #555 livery with which it was ridden by Greg Tracy to a second-place finish at the 2012 climb, following the installation of upgrades including an Akrapovič Pikes Peak Edition exhaust system, a lightweight subframe, and OZ Racing wheels. Along with Carlin Dunne’s class-winning 2012 Multistrada #5, both finished the course in under 10 minutes, marking the first time that feat had ever been accomplished on a motorcycle.
