KEY FACTS This BMW M3 CRT is an exceptionally rare, motorsport-inspired high-performance saloon, combining the practicality of the E90-generation M3 with a lightweight construction and the enlarged V8 shared with the M3 GTS. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.4-litre ‘S65’ V8, producing around 456PS and 440Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed M double-clutch transmission with paddle shift. BMW quoted a 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 290km/h. First registered in Germany in 2012, it was subsequently imported and is now registered in the Netherlands, with taxes reportedly paid. The seller states that they have owned the car for around 18 months, and reports two previous owners from new. This E90-era M3 CRT is number 7 of only 67 examples produced. The odometer indicates 16,226 km, which the seller believes to be the genuine total. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The CRT, or ‘Carbon Racing Technology’, was developed as a focused derivative of the E90-era M3 Saloon, employing lightweight CFRP components and a more powerful version of BMW M’s high-revving naturally aspirated V8. The special edition model also features adjustable coilover suspension, titanium silencers on the exhaust, reduced sound deadening, uprated brakes, and cellular carbon honeycomb front seats and bonnet.
