2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS CLS 63 AMG

This 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG exists for one clear purpose: to deliver extraordinary performance wrapped in unmistakable luxury, without compromise. The CLS was the car that introduced the world to the modern four-door coupe, and for 2012 Mercedes-Benz elevated that concept into something far more assertive, purposeful, and technically advanced. The design became sharper and more athletic, the engineering more focused, and the performance credentials firmly placed the CLS 63 AMG among the most formidable luxury sedans of its era. This is not merely a stylish Mercedes—it is a true AMG flagship engineered to cover long distances at speed while maintaining the refinement expected of a six-figure automobile. Powering the CLS 63 AMG is the legendary AMG 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, a direct-injected engine that defines the character of this car. In standard configuration, it produces 518 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, delivering immense thrust across a wide rev range. Power is managed by AMG’s Speedshift MCT 7-speed transmission, which replaces a traditional torque converter with a wet clutch pack—allowing the drivetrain to deliver smooth, seamless operation in everyday driving while enabling rapid, decisive shifts when placed into its more aggressive modes. This combination gives the CLS 63 AMG its distinctive dual personality: calm and composed when cruising, yet instantly forceful when called upon. Electronically limited to 155 mph in standard form, the platform itself is engineered for far more, underscoring the depth of AMG’s performance focus. The performance capability of the 2012 CLS 63 AMG is not theoretical—it is measurable. Independent testing has documented 0–60 mph acceleration in as little as 3.8 seconds, with the quarter-mile achieved in 12.0 seconds at 121 mph. Acceleration continues relentlessly beyond highway speeds, with 0–100 mph in 8.5 seconds and 0–150 mph in under 20 seconds recorded. Despite its size and luxury appointments, the CLS 63 AMG delivers acceleration typically associated with purpose-built sports cars, all while maintaining the comfort and composure of a grand touring sedan. This balance is a large part of why the CLS 63 AMG remains so appealing to enthusiasts today. Chassis tuning for 2012 was engineered to complement that power. Though weighing just over 4,000 pounds, the CLS 63 AMG was developed to feel far more agile than its dimensions suggest. Road evaluations documented strong on-center steering feel, confident turn-in, and composed behavior through rapid transitions. Lateral grip figures approaching 0.92 g were recorded, reinforcing that this is not merely a straight-line machine. Braking performance is equally serious, with large AMG-spec brakes providing authoritative stopping power and consistent pedal feel—capable of scrubbing speed rapidly and repeatedly when required. The result is a car that feels engineered as a complete system, not just a luxury sedan with a large engine. The example offered here enhances that already compelling package with particularly desirable ownership and presentation details. This 2012 CLS 63 AMG has traveled only 29,209 miles since new, is a 1-owner vehicle, and has been California owned. It is finished in an elegant white exterior over a refined beige leather interior, accented by wood grain trim—a timeless and upscale specification that complements the CLS’s design beautifully. Inside, the cabin delivers both comfort and control, featuring front power-adjustable seats with driver dynamic seat adjustments, along with heated and ventilated front seats for all-season comfort. The vehicle is equipped with a factory infotainment system featuring AM/FM radio, navigation, and a reverse camera, while amenities such as the power sunroof and rear power trunk reinforce the CLS 63 AMG’s luxury-first approach. What makes the 2012 CLS 63 AMG so compelling among enthusiasts is the way it blends real, verifiable performance with unmistakable presence and everyday usability. This is an AMG from an era when power delivery was immediate, the engine note unmistakable, and the engineering uncompromising. With exceptionally low mileage, single-owner California history as stated, and a clean, sophisticated color combination, this CLS 63 AMG represents a rare opportunity to acquire a truly special example of one of AMG’s most charismatic four-door performance cars.
