A 1-Owner car that shows, runs, and drives like new. Stop what you're doing right now. Stop texting. Get off YouTube, close Facebook, and pause for a moment so you can truly appreciate the times we're living in, a world where you can buy an American-made, 762-hp, all-wheel-drive electric car that's just as capable of driving itself as it is smoking exotic supercars off the line. That car is the Ludicrous-enhanced 2015 Tesla Model S P90D. As fabulous as Tesla's new semi-autonomous autopilot feature is, the Model S P90D is a car that begs to be driven but, to get the most out of this P90D, --- and to get something less Insane and a little more Ludicrous --- the original, and only, owner of this fabulous P90D ordered the $10,000 Ludicrous Speed Upgrade. The upgrade adds a couple of pieces of hardware to the P90D, including main battery pack contacts made of Inconel, a 'space-grade super alloy'. The Ludicrous Speed upgrade makes for some shocking acceleration numbers (0-60 in 2.6s, 1/4 mile in 10.9s @ 123MPH), besting mighty 707-hp Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat at the strip. All Model S P90Ds with the Ludicrous Speed upgrade are marked with an underline on the car's rump, the badge reading P90D to make the otherwise unassuming electric car the ultimate sleeper. The Tesla's interior is beautifully designed and crafted, from the sculptural door grabs to the high-quality, chubby leather steering wheel that feels superb in your hands. The massive 17-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard is available at the driver's whim and shows dual or single windows, and the O.B.C., with its underlying Nvidia processor, operates with amazing response. A static menu line across the top gives immediate access to stereo, navigation, phone, Web browser, energy usage screen and a calendar synced from the driver's phone. A persistent button on the lower left brings up drive settings, such as ride height with the air suspension, steering wheel program including Sport and Comfort, and Insane mode for acceleration. Along with two USB ports for audio input and Bluetooth® audio streaming. The 2015 Tesla Model S proves that two motors are better than one in an electric car. With its two-motor electric drive system, Tesla's get more range than the electric competition, all-wheel drive, and better acceleration than most cars on the road. New sensor hardware adds adaptive cruise control, with more driver-assistance features to come through over-the-air software updates.
