2016 Audi A8 L 3.0 quattro TDI

Finished in a beautiful black exterior over a black leather interior with rich wood grain accents, this 2016 Audi A8 L TDI quattro presents itself as a remarkably sophisticated full-size luxury sedan with an especially compelling blend of power, efficiency, craftsmanship, and all-weather confidence. Even more impressive, this particular example has covered only 97,680 miles since new, and it represents a model year that brought meaningful refinements to the A8 lineup. For 2016, every A8 was offered exclusively in the longer-wheelbase L configuration, giving buyers the added rear-seat room and presence of the extended-body sedan as standard. Audi also upgraded the cabin with standard dual-pane acoustic glass, extended leather trimming, and revised equipment packaging, all of which helped sharpen the A8’s standing in the flagship luxury class. At the heart of this A8 L is Audi’s 3.0L turbocharged diesel V6, an engine that stands out for delivering 240 horsepower and a substantial 428 lb-ft of torque. That torque arrives low in the rev range and gives the car a wonderfully effortless character, whether accelerating from a stop or gathering speed on the highway. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s renowned quattro all-wheel drive system, the result is a flagship sedan that feels sure-footed, refined, and exceptionally composed in a wide variety of driving conditions. Just as important, the TDI powertrain is known for impressive efficiency, with EPA estimates of 24 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, making this one of the most distinctive luxury sedans of its era for buyers who appreciate both long-range touring ability and diesel-powered torque. Inside, the A8 L surrounds its passengers with the kind of atmosphere that helped make this generation so respected among discerning luxury buyers. The leather seating surfaces, wood trim, and extended leather appointments give the cabin a warm, upscale character, while the long-wheelbase design provides generous rear passenger accommodations. Heated and ventilated front power seats add welcome comfort up front, while rear passengers benefit from rear climate controls, rear sunshades, and the elevated sense of space that defines the A8 L. The power sunroof with its power shade further enhances the cabin’s open, airy feel, and thoughtful details such as the power trunk and power rear window sunshades add the kind of everyday convenience expected from a premium executive sedan. Technology is equally well represented, with an infotainment display that includes AM/FM radio, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a reverse camera for added usability. Audi’s premium audio system provides the rich, high-quality sound experience luxury buyers expect, and the A8’s overall cabin remains one of its greatest strengths thanks to its quietness, material quality, and elegant design. On the road, this sedan distinguishes itself by combining genuine ride comfort with the sharp, controlled responses that have long set the A8 apart from more isolated-feeling rivals. In a market filled with large luxury sedans, the 2016 Audi A8 L TDI quattro remains a uniquely appealing choice: a long-wheelbase flagship with handsome design, serious torque, standard quattro all-wheel drive, and the kind of understated engineering depth that makes it especially rewarding for those who truly understand what makes an exceptional German luxury sedan.
