Vehicle Description 2018 Freightliner M2 106 $49,995 2018 Freightliner M2 106 Retractable-Roof Specialty Cargo TruckWhy spend the money required to replace a specialized commercial truck with a new build when you can take advantage of years of depreciation and purchase this exceptionally low-mileage, ready-to-work Freightliner for a fraction of replacement cost? This 2018 Freightliner M2 106 has traveled approximately 39,000 original miles and combines proven commercial-grade running gear with an extremely versatile M.H. Eby aluminum cargo body. Power is supplied by a Cummins B6.7 turbodiesel engine paired with an Allison automatic transmission. The truck is also equipped with air brakes, air-ride suspension and a 26,000-pound GVWR.The greatest advantage of this truck is its specialized retractable-roof cargo body. The roof opens to provide overhead access to the cargo compartment, allowing tall, oversized and difficult-to-handle materials to be loaded by crane or other overhead equipment. Once loading is completed, the roof closes to provide protection from the weather. The main cargo floor measures 24 feet in length and is supplemented by an approximately five-foot over-cab attic. This provides additional storage capacity and nearly 29 feet of maximum upper-level cargo length. The cargo area is equipped with a durable wood floor, multiple rows of cargo-control track, wood tie rails and convenient side access.Unlike a conventional steel or composite box, the M.H. Eby body is constructed primarily from aluminum. This reduces unnecessary body weight, improves available payload and provides superior resistance to rust and corrosion. The Eby body was professionally installed and upfitted by Wiegers Inc. of Clifton, New Jersey.A heavy-duty cantilever liftgate provides a large loading platform and up to 4,400 pounds of lifting capacity. This commercial-grade gate is substantially more capable than the lighter liftgates typically found on ordinary rental and delivery trucks.Equipment and specifications include:- Approximately 39,000 original miles- Cummins B6.7 turbodiesel engine- Allison automatic transmission- Air brakes- Air-ride suspension- 26,000-pound GVWR- 24-foot M.H. Its retractable roof, aluminum body, substantial liftgate and extremely low mileage make it a specialized commercial asset that would require a significant investment to duplicate today. The truck is ideally suited for entertainment and production companies, event services, trade-show transportation, machinery hauling, cabinet and countertop delivery, architectural materials, fabricated products, glass, lumber, pipe, staging equipment and oversized palletized freight. It also offers an excellent platform for a custom mobile workshop, equipment truck or specialty commercial conversion. The body shows cosmetic wear consistent with previous commercial use, but the underlying value is clear: a low-mileage Freightliner M2 with Cummins diesel power, an Allison automatic transmission and an expensive purpose-built aluminum cargo system.Let someone else absorb the initial depreciation and upfitting expense. This truck provides the specialized capability of a considerably more expensive replacement while remaining ready to serve its next owner for years to come.Offered at $49,995 plus applicable tax, plate fees and a $394 documentation fee.
