This 1969 AMC Javelin SST was delivered new to Mel Brown Inc of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and was acquired by the seller out of Rhode Island in late 2019. In the 1990s the car was refinished in green over a refreshed black interior, and its 290ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission are said to have been rebuilt. Equipment includes a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an aftermarket camshaft, Hooker headers, MagnaFlow mufflers, Cragar wheels, power-assisted brakes with front discs, an eight-track player, and a Mooneyes tachometer. The car was serviced in 2020 with work on the front brakes, an oil change, and replacement of the fuel pump, water pump, and valve-cover gaskets.
The car was delivered new in Willow Green Metallic (75). The seller states that it was refinished in the 1990s, at which point the bumpers, door handles, trim, and emblems were replaced; chips are noted in the paint. Features include black side stripes, tinted glass, and rear bumper guards.
Chrome-finished 14″ Cragar wheels are mounted with Firestone and BFGoodrich tires, and the seller states that the suspension was overhauled in the 1990s. In 2020 the power-assisted front disc brakes were serviced with replacement rotors, calipers, and hoses.
The black interior has been refreshed and features three-point seatbelts, a woodgrain console, and an AM radio with an eight-track stereo. The seller notes that the radio is inoperable, and a third key is required to open the trunk.
A three-spoke woodgrain steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and a Mooneyes tachometer mounted to the column. Two additional Mooneyes gauges are affixed under the dashboard. The clock is inoperable and the aftermarket ammeter is disconnected. The odometer shows 8k miles.
