The exterior is finished in Flash Red (LP3G), and the car features color-matched bumpers and side skirts, Wolfsburg Edition badging, and a white soft top. A new headlight was fitted in June 2020.
Factory 14″ Silverstone alloy wheels are mounted Cooper C4S Touring tires sized 185/60. The car features independent front suspension as well as front and rear stabilizer bars. Stopping power is from front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features white vinyl upholstery on the front seats, door panels, center console, and lower dash. Amenities include power windows, air conditioning, and a Volkswagen Heidelberg AM/FM cassette stereo. Discoloration is present on the convertible top headliner.
The four-spoke airbag steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a digital clock, and a fuel-level gauge. The six-digit odometer shows 51k miles.
The fuel-injected 1.8-liter inline-four was rated at 98 horsepower with 105 ft-lb of torque when new. Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller states the clutch, radiator, valve cover gasket, spark plugs and wires, and distributor were previously replaced. The clutch cable was replaced in June 2020 by Hammond Autowerks in Santa Rosa, California.
