This 1971 Datsun 240Z was acquired by the seller in 2015, and it was subsequently refurbished and modified. This 1971 Datsun 240Z was acquired by the seller in 2015, and it was subsequently refurbished and modified. Body repairs were performed and the exterior was subsequently refinished in World Rally Blue Pearl, the interior was refreshed, and a rebuilt 2.8-liter inline-six and five-speed manual transmission sourced from a later Z were installed. Service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and a coolant flush.
During the refurbishment, body repairs were performed and the exterior was refinished in its current shade of World Rally Blue Pearl. Front and rear spoilers were installed along with fender-mounted mirrors, rear window louvers, and headlight covers, and additional equipment includes tinted windows and chrome trim. The seller reports that the windshield and weather seals were replaced during the refurbishment.
Eight-spoke 16″ Rota wheels with gunmetal-finished centers and polished lips are wrapped in 205/55 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, both of which were fitted during the refurbishment. Additional modifications are said to include KYB struts and Toyota truck-sourced front brake calipers, and the seller states that the steering rack, steering coupler, and tie rods were replaced.
The cabin was reupholstered during the refurbishment and features seats covered with black vinyl with matching door panels as well as carpeting protected by rubber floor mats. A Kenwood Bluetooth-capable stereo is paired with a JL Audio amplifier, front and rear speakers, and subwoofer.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The dashboard is cracked and covered with a carpeted pad, and the clock and tachometer are inoperative. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates just over 21k miles.
A rebuilt 2.8-liter inline-six sourced from a later Z model was installed and fitted with triple side-draft Weber carburetors with a heat shield, a Schneider Racing camshaft, a Champion three-row radiator, a ceramic-coated header, and a Flowmaster exhaust system. Replacement parts installed during the refurbishment are said to include the following components:

Fuel pump
Water pump
Belts and hoses
A rebuilt five-speed manual transmission also sourced from a later Z sends power to the rear wheels through a replacement driveshaft.
