This 1956 Volkswagen Beetle is finished in Eismeer Blue Metallic over a two-tone gray interior and powered by a 2,387cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the seller in 2007 and subsequently refurbished with work including a body-off repaint, refreshing the interior, and installation of a custom sound system with a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo, Porsche-style Fuchs wheels, a Porsche fan conversion, four-wheel disc brakes, a dual-outlet exhaust, and ISP instrumentation. Equipment consists of chrome-finished bumpers and trim, running boards, and halogen headlamps.
The body was removed from the pan and painted in Eismeer Blue Metallic in 2008, and the pan was refinished at that time. Exterior features include chrome-finished bumpers with over-riders, halogen headlamps, a drive-side mirror, rubber-lined running boards, an oval rear window, and dual exhaust outlets with polished finishers.
Chrome 15″ Fuchs-style wheels wear Porsche center caps and are mounted with Firestone tires. A matching spare is mounted in the trunk, and braking is provided by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features seating upholstered in two-tone gray cloth with matching door panels, headliner, and carpets. Features include a body-colored dashboard, 1966 Beetle seats, lap belts, crank windows, rubber floor mats, a passenger grab handle, a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo, a rear-mounted amplifier, and a subwoofer. The seller notes that the removed 1956 seats are included in the sale.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a Wolfsburg-crest center cap and frames an 80-mph speedometer. A trio of ISP gauges has been fitted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 4,500 miles, 450 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,387cc flat-four is said to have been built by Powerhaus VW of Torrance, California in December 2020 and features a Bernie Bergmann Porsche fan conversion kit, headers, upgraded carburetors, and linkage, and a remote oil filter system, and the generator has been replaced with an alternator. The oil was changed in August 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
