The current owning family acquired the car in 2003 and has added approximately 7k miles, using the vehicle in various vintage rallies including the California Mille.
This is the 228th Giulietta Spider produced based on the chassis number, and it was repainted under previous ownership. The current owner acquired it from its previous long-term California owner, and the car has a 1970s-era blue California license plate. The seller notes signs of age on the brightwork as well as evidence of bodywork in the driver-side rear section of the car.
Gray-finished 15″ ventilated steel wheels wear Alfa Romeo hubcaps and were mounted with 155-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in 2018. Suspension and rear-axle bushings were replaced in 2011, and the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2016.
The interior has replacement seat covers, while red carpeting with black rubber mats covers the floors. A Pininfarina F-logo radio-block-off plate has been affixed in the center of the dashboard, and the spare tire is mounted behind the seats.
A two-spoke steering wheel with an aged horn button sits ahead of Veglia instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset oil-pressure gauge, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows just under 55k miles.
The 1,290L twin-cam inline-four utilizes a Weber carburetor and was rebuilt in 2011 by L. Buskirk Company of Novato, California. The fuel and water hoses were replaced at that time, and in 2005 the car had been converted to a negative-ground electrical system that utilizes an alternator. In 2016 the alternator was replaced, the coolant was flushed, and the fluids were changed.
The four-speed manual gearbox was rebuilt by Epifani Restorations in 2007, and a 4.10:1 rear differential has been installed for taller gearing over the stock setup.
