Approximately 1,800 Biarritz convertibles were produced for the 1957 model year, and this example is said to have received a refurbishment around 25 years ago. The exterior is finished in red with a white soft top and polished chrome and stainless-steel aLents, and the seller states that the rear window has been replaced and the top mechanism adjusted to correct a noise.
The 16” steel wheels are equipped with polished covers and wrapped in whitewall BFGoodrich Silvertown tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes.
The cabin features two rows of bench seats trimmed in red and white leather with matching door panels and red carpets. An Autronic Eye headlight dimming system is retained atop the dashboard, and additional equipment includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat and a push-button AM radio. The seller states that the shifter knob, horn, and the windshield wiper mechanism have been repaired.
A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring frames instrumentation including a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 57k miles.
The 365ci V8 features dual four-barrel carburetors and was factory-rated at 325 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels through a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The engine and transmission were rebuilt in June 2019, and receipts from Unique Performance of Medford, New York are provided in the gallery along with an April 2021 inspection report. The water pump and rear main seal have reportedly been resealed.
