This 1968 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super was purchased by the seller out of Germany in 2006 after it reportedly spent decades in Italy under prior ownership. Powered by a replacement 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in amaranth red over tan vinyl, and equipment includes reclining front bucket seats, Cromodora alloy wheels, and vent windows. Modifications performed since the car’s importation to the United States under current ownership include replacing the stock 1.6-liter engine with a later 1750, adding a later-model limited-slip differential with 4.10:1 gears, and installing Koni shocks.
The body is said to have been refinished in Rosso Amaranto (509) under prior ownership, and the seller had both rocker panels replaced and repainted to address rust. A stylized Alfa Romeo grille is surrounded by quad headlights with stainless-steel surrounds, a one-year-only design element, and the exterior is highlighted by stainless steel bumpers and side trim on the hood around the windows and below the doors, and a chrome side mirror. The seller reports installing new-old-stock taillights and a replacement windshield.
actory-optional 14″ Cromodora wheels are mounted with 165-size Vredestein Sprint Classic tires showing 2019 date codes. Koni shocks were added by the previous owner, while the seller recently replaced the brakes. A tool kit and a full-size spare are located in the trunk.
The cabin is upholstered in tan AlfaTex vinyl complemented by wood dashboard aLents and newly installed gray carpeting. Equipment includes manually cranked windows, opening vent windows, and a lockable glovebox.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a suite of instrumentation that includes a 200-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,250-rpm redline, as well as embedded gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The odometer shows approximately 31,500 kilometers, approximately 15k of which were added by the seller. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over once, making the total 131,500 km or 82k miles.
The factory 1.6-liter inline-four was replaced with a later 1.8-liter Alfa engine under current ownership; the removed 1.6L powerplant remains in the seller’s possession. The seller serviced the car in 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a later-model limited-slip differential with 4.10:1 gears. The seller states that the transmission sometimes pops out of fifth gear.
