This 1969 Volkswagen Beetle was acquired as a partially completed project by the seller in 2018 from its reported original owner and has since been fitted with a modified 1.3-liter 13B rotary engine paired with a rebuilt four-speed manual transaxle. The car has been refinished in yellow over black and yellow upholstery, and additional modifications include custom fenders, a roll cage, fixed-back bucket seats, racing harnesses, a custom dashboard, VDO gauges, power windows, staggered wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The car was fitted with custom front fenders, widened rear fenders, a modified deck lid, and single-piece door windows prior to being refinished in a Porsche-sourced yellow according to the seller. LED headlights have been installed, and the weatherstripping is said to have been replaced.
Body-color 15″ front and 17″ rear wheels are mounted with 145-series Nankang N-803 and 235/55 Otani KC2000 tires, respectively. The seller states that the suspension has been modified, and four-wheel disc brakes have been installed.
The interior features fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in black and yellow upholstery along with a roll cage that extends from the front trunk to the rear engine bay. Equipment includes Crow harnesses, black door panels and rear trim, power windows, and a replacement headliner and carpeting. A housing for the electric water pump has been added in place of rear seats.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts a custom body-color dashboard that houses VDO instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and five auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 5k miles.
A custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans is located ahead of the fuel tank.
The carbureted 1.3-liter 13B twin-rotor engine was built with lightweight high-compression rotors and installed in 2019 by Kurt Robinson Enterprises in Oregon.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle was sourced from a VW Bus and overhauled by Mark’s Sand Trans of Portland, Oregon.
