This 1971 Datsun 240Z is finished in gold over black vinyl and is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. A refurbishment consisting of a repaint and an interior refreshment was commissioned after car was acquired by the seller in 2016. Work completed under current ownership consisted of replacing the clutch, flywheel, and thermostat as well as reconditioning the radiator.
The car was refinished in its current shade of gold during a refurbishment commissioned by the seller. Features include side mirrors, chrome bumpers, brushed window trim, and a polished exhaust finisher. The weatherstripping is said to have been replaced during the refurbishment, and an aftermarket antenna has been added.
Slotted 14″ alloy wheels are mounted with 185/70 Lanvigator Catchgre Gp100 tires. A brake fluid flush is said to have been performed within the last 300 miles, at which time the rear wheel cylinders and brake lines were replaced.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a locking glove box, center console, and a wood shift knob. Work performed during the refurbishment is said to have included replacing the carpets and reconditioning the dashboard.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are fitted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles.
The numbers-matching 2.4L L24 inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 151 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. Service under current ownership is said to include replacing the coolant temperature sender, air filter, thermostat, flywheel, and clutch, as well as flushing and reconditioning the radiator and tuning the carburetors.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
