This 1971 Datsun 240Z is finished in green over black vinyl and is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. This example was manufactured in December of 1970 and is equipped with SU carburetors, 14″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, bumper-mounted Lucas driving lights, a driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, a wood shift knob, and a push-button radio. The car was inherited by the seller from the family of the original owner in April 2021 after spending a period of time in storage. Work completed in June 2021 consisted of replacing the fuel filter and battery along with changing the oil.
The seller believes the car has been refinished in its factory shade of green (907) under prior ownership. Features include a driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, brushed window trim, and bumper-mounted Lucas driving lights. Replacement rubber weather seals have reportedly been installed along with replacement badges.
Slotted 14″ alloy wheels wear older Michelin tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension along with front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a rear window defroster, locking glove box, center console, wood shift knob, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The seller notes the driver’s seat bottom has been reupholstered.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are fitted in the center stack along with an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles.
The 2.4L L24 inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 151 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. The fuel filter and battery were replaced, and the oil was changed in June 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.
