This 1973 Volvo 1800ES was purchased out of storage by the seller in 2006 and subsequently refurbished and modified. Work included a repaint in metallic blue, a reupholstered interior, installation of a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and overhauls of the brakes and suspension. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired and features chrome bumpers, 15″ wheels, and a glass rear hatch. The body was stripped to bare metal, media blasted, repainted in the factory Light Metallic Blue, and then clear coated. The trim and side markers were also shaved, and additional exterior features include vent windows, a glass rear hatch, and chrome bumpers.
Steel 15″ wheels were powder-coated silver and are mounted with 205/60 Bridgestone Potenza RE71 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs. The seller reports that the front A-arm bushings were recently replaced.
The cabin features blue leather seats and inertia seatbelts sourced from an Audi TT. The door panels are also blue, and the matching carpets are installed over sound deadening material. Additional features include a white headliner, woodgrain dashboard, and AM/FM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 54k miles.
The 2.0-liter inline-four features Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. The fuel pressure regulator was replaced within the past six months.
A four-speed manual transmission with overdrive is installed in place of the factory automatic.
