This 1974 Alfa Romeo Spider is powered by a fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in blue over red vinyl upholstery. The car has been updated with Centerline springs and 14″ Cromodora wheels as well as a 4.10:1 rear end. The seller purchased the car in 2012 from the reported third owner and soon after sold it to the current owner, who passed away in early 2021.
The car was originally finished in Blu (323) and is said to have been repainted. Features include Carello headlight covers, a chrome Alfa-logo side mirror, a retractable radio antenna, a black soft top, a red boot cover, and stainless-steel bumpers with rubber inserts.
Cromodora Daytona 14″ wheels are mounted with 195/65 Falken ZIEX tires showing 2018 date codes. A full-size spare is located in the trunk.
The seats and door panels are upholstered in red vinyl, while the dashboard is black, as are the package shelf and the Alfa-logo floor coverings. The seats feature lap belts and head restraints, and there is a radio blanking plate on the center console.
An Alfa Romeo–stamped Personal wood steering wheel that was standard equipment for this model fronts a suite of instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles.
The 2.0-liter twin-cam inline-four was rated at 129 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque when new, and the car retains stock SPICA fuel injection. The seller states that the engine was refreshed this past winter with replacement bearings and Hastings piston rings; the engine was previously rebuilt with replacement liners and pistons by the second owner. The cylinder head was freshened in 2020 and new valves and guides were installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, which had two replacement synchros and bearings installed in 2020, and the clutch and the throw-out bearing were replaced at the same time. Centerline springs and a taller 4.10:1 rear end from a later Spider also have been installed.
