The car is finished in blue over a white interior and is powered by a 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. A multi-year refurbishment is said to have been completed in 2011 by Southtowne Auto Rebuild of Seattle, Washington that included body work and refinishing the car in blue. Features include chrome bumpers and trim, a driver-side mirror, and dual exhaust outlets.
Steel 15″ wheels feature chrome VW-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 165/80 Federal Super Street 657 tires. Corrosion is noted on the hub caps. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in white along with matching door panels. Salt-and-pepper carpets line the footwells, and amenities include a heater, three-point front seat belts, and front vent windows.
A black four-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer with an integrated fuel level gauge and a five-digit odometer that indicates 48k miles.
The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four features a single carburetor and is said to have been serviced with a top end rebuild in 2004. A valve adjustment and an oil change were carried out in September 2020. The seller states a battery shut-off switch has been added due to a drain on the battery.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
The car is accompanied by manufacturer’s literature and a service manual.
