This 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is finished in black with faux-woodgrain trim over tan upholstery, and power comes from a 360ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 15″ aluminum wheels, Pro Comp dampers, a Howell electronic fuel-injection system, a roof rack, driving lights, air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, and a Kenwood CD player. The truck was acquired by the seller in April 2016, and work since 2018 has included installation of the fuel-injection system, resurfacing the front rotors and rear drums, changing the oil, and replacement of the body and engine mounts, the crankshaft pulley and seal, the water pump, the power-steering pump, the carpets, and the headliner along with brake work and an air-conditioning overhaul.
Previously finished in blue, the body is said to have been stripped and repainted in black and the faux-woodgrain trim was replaced. The seller states that the bright-finished trim was polished, and additional features include a roof rack, driving lights, an electric sliding rear window, and a rear wind deflector.
Gray-finished 15″ aluminum wheels wear chrome Jeep center caps and are mounted with American Classic whitewall tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs up front with drums in the rear, and work since 2018 has included resurfacing the front rotors and rear drums and replacement of the rear shoes and wheel cylinders. Earlier work included installing replacement front and rear leaf springs, shocks, and a steering damper from Pro Comp. The seller states that an additional set of unmounted tires is included in the sale.
The cabin features seating trimmed in tan with striped cloth inserts as well as a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior amenities include air conditioning, vented front windows, custom floor-mounted storage with cupholders, power windows and aLessories, and a Kenwood CD stereo. The headliner has been reupholstered, the floor and door-panel carpeting has been replaced, and the air-conditioning compressor and condenser were replaced prior to the system being recharged with R12 refrigerant.
A two-spoke steering wheel wears a tan wrap and frames instrumentation that includes a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges measuring oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer indicates 96k miles.
The 360ci AMC V8 features a Howell electronic fuel-injection system and sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Work since 2018 has included installation of the fuel-injection conversion, an oil change, and replacement of the crankshaft pulley and seal, the water pump, the oil-pressure sending unit, and the engine mounts as well as the exhaust support brackets, the battery, the spark plugs, and the air cleaner.
The body mounts were replaced during January 2018 work carried out by Valley Pacific Frame & Suspension of Canoga Park, California.
