Description
This 1926 Ford Model TT stake truck is said to have been produced on December 7, 1925, and was purchased by its current owning family in 2012. A refurbishment was then carried out by Roger Hadfield in 2013 that included refinishing the metal body in black with red bed-side stakes. The cab features “Austin J. Hadfield, Clyde Road, Galt, Ontario” lettering in tribute to Hadfield’s parents, who used a Model TT to relocate from Michigan to Canada in 1927. The truck is powered by a 177ci L-head inline-four mated to a two-speed manual transmission, a Warford auxiliary transmission, and a worm-drive rear axle. It rides on red-painted 20″ wood-spoke wheels, Rocky Mountain rear drum brakes, a wood-plank bed floor, and a bed-mounted toolbox. This Model TT is now offered in Canada by the seller on behalf of the current owner as part of the Roger Hadfield Collection with Ontario registration. The Model TT was built with a longer, heavier-duty frame than the Model T and was rated to carry a one-ton payload. The steel cab on this example is finished in black with red stake sides around the wood-plank cargo bed behind the passenger cab. It features electric headlights, cowl lanterns, a fixed roof, and a tilt-out windshield. Hadfield family lettering is painted on the doors. A locking red toolbox is located in the cargo bed. Texture is noted in the black paint, and touch-ups and paint chips are noted, as is weathering, fading, and wear of the finish on the stake rails.
