Description
DescriptionThere is only one word needed to describe this 1945 Willys MB: STUNNING! This absolutely incredible restoration likely represents the finest WW2 jeep to ever be offered for sale in North America. We believe it is, but you’ll be the judge of that after we’ve answered any questions you may have for us, and after you’ve seen and admired the sublime craftmanship for yourself: We’re here to help, and we willingly invite any and all inspections. From the front bumper to the rear tow hitch, every single nut, bolt and washer has been meticulously restored: The paint is perfect. There is not one speck of rust to be found on the bodywork, tub, fenders, grille, and hood. The inside of the cockpit is perfect. The frame and underbody, also perfect. The entire driveline has been rebuilt: the ‘Go Devil’ engine, its T84 gearbox, and Dana axles. The brakes and brake lines are new. The canvas seat covers, front and rear: all pristine new. The canvas summer top: pristine new. The windshield glass on both the driver’s side and the passenger’s side is brand new. The famous ‘pioneer tools’, the axe and shovel: new. The 1¼” 25ft natural material towrope: new. Exhaust system, wiring harness, dash gauges, fuel tank sender, and steering wheel: new. The jeep has been equipped with 12volt electronics, achieved by using a period correct 12V generator, not an alternator; doing this retains an authentic original look to the engine bay. This highly desirable upgrade allows perfect reliable starting of the jeep in all weathers. This show-stopper Willys MB features five correct ‘split rim’ combat rims, and five brand new correct 6x16 military tires. The rear of the jeep is equipped with a perfect condition ‘gas’ jerry can, along with a period correct ‘collapsible’ canvas water bucket. The left and right flanks of the jeep feature two period correct WW2 water canteens. The jeep is equipped with a very high quality Garand M1 replica fitted to the rifle carrier. The rifle is a non-functional parade quality replica, complete with a working bolt action and trigger action. The jeep also features a bespoke ‘aged timber’ toolbox, designed to fit precisely between the front bumper and the jeep’s iconic grille. This stunning toolbox - a custom commission made by Steve Matchett - has had its period matched olive drab paint patina-aged and military stencilled. Painstaking attention to detail, resulting in Hollywood, movie prop perfection. The toolbox stencilling is a thrilling tribute to the mighty 101st Airborne, E Company, the legendary ‘band of brothers’ during their ‘battle of the bulge’ campaign of December 1944. The rear mounted replica radio mast features a period correct forty-eight star US flag, and the famed Normandy landings insignia of the world renowned 101st Airborne. Along with the jeep’s front toolbox, a more fitting tribute to ‘the greatest generation’ we cannot imagine. In conclusion, we can assure you without any reservations, this stunning world war two jeep is a genuine piece of American living history; it represents ‘the greatest generation’ in their finest hour.
