Description
This 1952 Chevrolet Suburban was purchased by its current owner in 2020 and a subsequent 3.5-year refurbishment performed at Rod Tech Hot Rods of Costa Mesa, California, was completed in time for the car to win first-place in the Utility Wagon category at the Grand National Roadster Show in February 2024. Work involved a repaint in two-tone green along with modifications that included the installation of a rebuilt 350ci Chevrolet V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, a Buick-sourced independent-suspension front end, a Camaro-sourced 8.5″ rear axle assembly, power steering, power front disc brakes, 15″ artillery-style wheels, and an auxiliary 10-gallon fuel tank. Sound-deadening insulation was applied to a reupholstered brown leather bench-seat interior equipped with an aftermarket under-dash air-conditioning system and a modern replica radio with Bluetooth connectivity. This modified Suburban is now offered on dealer consignment with a California title in the owner’s name. The body was repainted in two-tone green at Cypress Autobody of Hermosa Beach. It features an exterior sun visor, running boards, chrome bumpers, a picket fence front bumper guard, visored headlights and fog lamps, cowl-mounted side mirrors, sliding side windows, and rear barn doors.
