Description
The 1963 Chevrolet Impala was Chevrolet’s full-size flagship vehicle and was offered in a wide range of body styles, from sedans and wagons to convertibles and sport coupes. Though the Impala had already established a reputation for luxury from the model's inception in in 1958, by the early 1960s Chevrolet had started piling on performance options.
For 1963, buyers could order V8 engines ranging from the small-block 283 and 327 to the high-performance 409, an engine that helped establish Chevrolet’s reputation in the growing performance-car market. The 1963 model year is also notable for its clean, uncluttered styling, which distinguished it from earlier models.
Thanks to this same clean styling, the 1963 Impala became a pop culture icon in pretty short order. The 1963 Chevrolet Impala is famously included in films such as 1995's "Friday" and in music as early as the 1960s, such as "409" by The Beach Boys. Rapper Eazy-E famously owned and drove a 1963 Chevrolet Impala in the 1990s.
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala is finished in blue with a blue interior. It has been fitted with a 454ci big-block V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The car has a four-barrel carburetor, stainless dual exhaust, aluminum radiator, and power front disc brakes. Inside, it features a front bench seat, B&M shifter, woodgrain steering wheel, and Bosch auxiliary gauges, and this Impala 2-Door Hardtop sits on a set of 17" American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
