Description
Walk Around Video: Engine Running Video: I’m delighted to offer on consignment this 1964 Porsche 356 SC Coupe finished in Champagne Yellow contrasted by a Black Leather interior. It was sold new by Import Motor Inc. Wichita, Kansas on 04/21/1964 and remained with its original owner for several years before being sold to its second owner in Cleveland, Ohio. After his death in 1974, the current owner a prominent Ohio Porsche Collector and 60 year plus member of Porsche Club of America purchased the car from the estate. Prior to purchase the car was inspected by Chuck Stoddard the owner of Stoddard Imported Cars, Mentor, OH who was a world-renowned expert on all things vintage Porsche and one of the original US dealers for the brand. Chuck noted during the inspection that if the present owner didn’t buy the car he would. The present owner has enjoyed this 356 immensely adding many miles over the years traveling all over the country attending the Porsche Parade which is PCA’s marquee annual one week event held in a different region of the club nationally. The car retains its original 1600cc 95hp SC Engine, Gearbox and 6v electrical system. The mileage indicated on the 5-digit odometer is 27,804 which has turned over once so represents 127,804 total miles which is believed to be the correct. The car was restored in 2004 by local 356 Body Expert Bill Kemper of Panelwerks, Mentor, OH with the mechanicals being handled by Rick Bennent of the Sports Car Factory. The restoration is holding up very well with no signs of rust and excellent panel gaps. The car has recently been serviced by Mike Immarino of Aircooled Auto, Montville OH a noted 356 expert in preparation for sale. This included a major service, new exhaust system and new tires. The new owner will be presented with two keys, original owner’s manual, original tool kit and extensive maintenance/restoration records dating back many decades. I owned and restored two 356’s in the UK in the 1980’s so I have a deep affection for these original Porsche’s. Although it’s been several years since I’ve been closely associated with them since my business is predominantly selling more modern Porsches. I feel privileged that the owner of this 356 has entrusted me with finding its next custodian. Driving this gem brings back fond memories of my cars and a simpler time in automotive history. There’s a lot to be said for nostalgia, and this car is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any Porsche Enthusiast. Whomever is lucky enough to be the next owner of this vehicle after 52 years of carful continuous ownership and enjoyment will be very fortunate.
