Description
This 1964 Triumph TR4 was built in September 1964 and dispatched to San Francisco, California. The seller purchased the car in 2018, and subsequent work involved installing an HVDA five-speed manual transmission; rebuilding the engine to displace 2,289cc; fitting a Piper camshaft, dual Mikuni carburetors, a C, G, & J aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, and a Fidanza flywheel; converting the electrical system to negative ground; and overhauling the brakes and the suspension. Finished in Signal Red over black vinyl, the TR is equipped with a black convertible top, Minator 15″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, a roll hoop, Lucas driving lamps, a wood dashboard, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This TR4 is now offered in Canada with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the removed four-speed transmission and other spare parts, and Ontario registration in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Wedgwood Blue and previously repainted black, the car underwent rust repairs and was repainted again in its current Signal Red single-stage epoxy at some point under prior ownership, according to the seller. A paint correction consisting of wet-sanding and polishing was performed under current ownership.
