Description
First introduced in 1955, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud replaced the Silver Dawn as a major update post-World War II. The Silver Cloud remained a core Rolls-Royce model throughout the years, and later models such as the Silver Cloud II and III refined the Silver Cloud even further.
The Silver Cloud III was first produced in 1963, and remained in production until 1966. Not only was this the final generation of the Silver Cloud, but it is also widely considered to be the most refined vehicle to wear the Silver Cloud moniker. The Silver Cloud III introduced quad headlamps, improved cabin space, and weighed less than the previous generation.
This 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III was sold new in London, England at Mann Egerton, a Rolls-Royce main dealer, and is said to have remained under single-family ownership from the early 1970s until the early 2020s. It is powered by a dual-carbureted 6.2L V8 that was rated at approximately 230 horsepower when new, though the automaker was famously coy about power ratings. Power goes rearward via a General Motors Hydramatic four-speed automatic built and tuned by Rolls-Royce.
Outside, features include silver paint with a lower white body wrap, white wall tires, and the iconic Rolls-Royce grille. Interior features include authentic wood trim, leather seating, and folding rear picnic trays.
