Description
This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I Fixed Head Coupe is powered by a rebuilt 4.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. It underwent a comprehensive rotisserie restoration involving thousands of hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Prior to restoration, the vehicle was thoroughly evaluated, inspected and cataloged before being completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The body was mounted on a rotisserie, metal-finished and leaded, with all body panels and chrome trim pre-fitted before final assembly. The body was then primed, sealed and refinished in Opalescent Golden Sand using a basecoat/clearcoat process, followed by color-sanding and buffing. All major mechanical systems were rebuilt, restored, serviced or replaced as needed, including the engine, transmission, rear differential and suspension. During the engine rebuild, the block was hot-tanked, line-bored, magnafluxed and machined. New pistons, rings, bearings, fuel and water pumps were installed, and the crankshaft was machined and balanced. The cylinder head was completely rebuilt with new valves, springs, guides and seals. The triple SU carburetors were fully restored and rebuilt. Additional mechanical work included a new clutch system, balanced driveshaft, new shock absorbers and a stainless-steel exhaust system. The electrical, hydraulic and cooling systems were restored or replaced as needed, including a new wiring harness, radiator, rebuilt power brake booster, new rubber components and grommets. All instrumentation, gauges, knobs and switches were inspected and restored, rescreened or replaced as necessary. The exterior brightwork was re-plated, and a new windshield was installed. A new battery was also fitted. Accompanying the vehicle is a flash drive containing photographs and videos documenting the extensive restoration process.
