Description
Nicknamed 'Brutacious', this custom 1967 Pontiac LeMans is powered by a fuel-injected Mussi/Edelbrock 555ci V-8 engine producing 725hp on a dynamometer, backed by a Richmond five-speed overdrive manual transmission with a McLeod clutch and long shifter. Power is delivered through a narrowed fabricated Chassisworks 9-inch rear end with stainless-steel 31-spline axles and a Truetrac limited-slip differential. The engine features an Edelbrock fuel-injection intake, Pro-Flo XT fuel rails and ceramic-coated Lemons headers. A 3-inch polished exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers is fitted. The custom Springfield Motorsports square-tube chassis features a Chassisworks billet four-link rear suspension with dual VariShock coilovers, tubular upper and lower front control arms and Delphi power steering. Braking is handled by Wilwood disc brakes with drilled rotors and Dynalite calipers at all four corners, along with an E-Stopp electronic parking brake. The body features a smoothed firewall, insulated double floors, hand-fabricated inner front fenders and rear tubs. The exterior is finished in PPG Viper Red and features five custom filler panels on the underside of the hood, a smooth radiator latch cover and billet hinges. One-off custom Schott wheels measure 20x13 at the rear and 18x9 in front and are wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires. The interior was trimmed by Ridler Award-winning upholstery designer Lee Baxter and features four bucket seats, interior panels and trunk panels finished in Eureka Charcoal leather. Dark gray wool carpeting is fitted in the cabin and trunk, along with a custom-stitched headliner. Additional equipment includes Vintage Air climate control, power windows and a Kenwood sound system with GPS navigation. More than $500,000 was invested in the comprehensive eight-year build, which began with a donor car from Bellevue, Washington.
