1967 Triumph GT6

Merit Cars Presents: A rare and highly desirable 1967 Triumph GT6 Mk1, the first generation of Triumph's distinctive fastback sports coupe. This is a particularly interesting example for the enthusiast looking for an early GT6. The car spent its life in dry Colorado, providing a solid foundation without the typical rust concerns often associated with these cars. The car is finished in Blue with a Black interior. It was originally Yellow and has been changed to its current Blue color during its lifetime. The current combination presents well and gives the car a distinctive appearance. The GT6 has the honest appearance of a well-used survivor, with natural paint wear and cosmetic character that give it plenty of personality. Engine & Drivetrain The GT6 is powered by its smooth-running 2.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine starts easily, runs strong and the car drives out very well. Recent work includes carburetor service and a valve-clearance inspection. Electrical & Instrumentation The electrical systems are functional. Headlights, tail lights, turn signals, fuel gauge, temperature gauge and the cabin heater all work as intended. Body & Chassis The body and undercarriage are solid, with the car's Colorado history providing a particularly attractive foundation for an early GT6. The exterior shows honest patina, paint wear and cosmetic character consistent with a survivor-quality driver. The Mk1 GT6's fastback styling, six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission make it one of the most distinctive of the early Triumph sports cars. This is not a freshly restored show car. Instead, it is an honest, solid and usable GT6 Mk1 that can be enjoyed as it is while also providing an excellent foundation for further preservation or improvement. Price: $10,950
