Description
This 1968 Ford Mustang convertible was purchased by the previous owner in 2010, reportedly from its second owner. Over the next few years it was customized and rebuilt. A rebuilt 5.0-liter V8 and Tremec five-speed manual transmission were retrofitted along with a Yukon differential, and four-wheel disc brakes and 17″ Torq Thrust-style wheels were added along with a Heidts Mustang II front end featuring power rack-and-pinion steering, tubular control arms, and adjustable coilovers. The car was repainted Ford Race Red and had a tan soft top fitted, and the interior was also redone with tan upholstery, bucket seats, a console, a touchscreen sound system, and modern gauges. The seller acquired the car on BaT in April 2026, and since that time has replaced the tires, air conditioner compressor lines, flexible brake lines, wilwood master cylinder with hydro boost, radiator overflow tank, engine mounts, high-flow cats, and door latches. This Mustang convertible is now offered at no reserve with a Marti Report, service records, a car cover, and California title listing the car as a Special Construction. The build involved replacing the floor pans, portions of the cowl, radiator support, fender aprons, torque boxes, and the rocker assemblies. The car was then repainted in Ford Race Red. The tan soft top was fitted in May 2025, and Scott Drake headlights and a mesh grille were used in the build along with a Newport Engineering two-speed wiper motor. The previous owner noted a wrinkle in the deck lid and a ding on the left-front fender. In August 2026, the taillights and door latches were repaired.
