Description
This 1969 AMC AMX is is said to have been purchased new in Beloit, Wisconsin, and remained with its original owner’s family until 2022, when the seller bought the car. Powered by a 390ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Twin-Grip differential, the coupe is finished in Bittersweet Orange Metallic over Charcoal vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes Magnum 500–style 14″ wheels, power steering, woodgrain interior trim, and a center console. The seller had a front-disc brake conversion performed. In mid-2026, the front suspension was overhauled, the brake booster was rebuilt, and the master cylinder was replaced, as were the timing chain and gears, the front timing-cover seal, and the rear main seal. This AMX is now offered with an owner’s manual and a Texas title in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Bittersweet Orange Metallic (79A), the car was repainted in the 1980s, according to the seller. Exterior details include faux hood louvers, electrically actuated windshield wipers, a remote-adjustable driver-side mirror, sail-panel AMX badging, bright rocker-panel trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. The roof-rail weatherstripping was replaced under current ownership. The seller notes that the front bumper is bent and the tail panel may have undergone body work at some point under prior ownership. Imperfections in the paint are pictured in the gallery below.
