Description
The Dodge Charger was built on Chrysler’s B-body platform, a midsize rear-wheel-drive architecture that underpinned many of the company’s most famous muscle cars. Known for its distinct blend of dramatic styling and high-performance V8 power, the 1970 Charger marked the final year of the acclaimed second-generation Charger--a design widely considered one of the greatest muscle-car shapes ever produced, and one that helped establish the Charger as a symbol of the peak muscle-car era.
For 1970, Dodge revised the front and rear styling, most notably adding the distinctive wraparound “loop” front bumper, eliminating the 1969 model’s divided grille, introducing electric headlight doors, updating interior features, and offering new high-impact paint colors that became legendary among Mopar enthusiasts.
Finished in Hemi Orange with a black vinyl top, this Charger sports a black vinyl top, Rallye wheels, and dual exhaust. Under the hood is a 318ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Inside, it features bucket seats, an AM radio, an aftermarket cassette deck, and a center console.
This 1970 Dodge Charger was reportedly purchased by the seller in 1973, and more recent maintenance is reported to include replacement of the engine long block, interior components, and vinyl top. The seller reports that the odometer has rolled over, and subsequently the current mileage is said to be just over 162,700.
