Description
Introduced for the 1973 model year as the final and most refined evolution of the 914, the 2.0 featured Porsche-developed cylinder heads and increased torque, further enhancing the platform's renowned mid-engine handling dynamics. Finished in Summer Yellow over a black interior, this 1976 example was acquired by its previous owner in 2020 and refurbished over the following years. It features dual Weber 44 IDF carburetors in place of its factory fuel injection system and benefits from a complete repaint in its original color. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 914 is now being offered for auction in Maryland.
The exterior has been refinished in its factory Summer Yellow (L13K) paint color and features black rubber bumpers with integrated front fog lights, pop-up headlamps, a removable roof panel, black vinyl sail panels, a fender-mounted antenna, Porsche script side stripes, Porsche-branded rocker panel decals, a chrome driver's side mirror, and aftermarket 15-inch Riviera-style wheels. The seller describes the paint as being in excellent overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The two-seat cabin is upholstered in black leatherette with basketweave-pattern inserts on the seat centers, dashboard, and door panels. Appointments include a replacement dashboard cap, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, a center console with auxiliary gauges, three-point seatbelts, a heater, an under-dash air conditioning system, analog VDO instrumentation, and a Kenwood stereo paired with aftermarket speakers. The seller notes the interior remains in very good original condition apart from some wrinkling on the upper dashboard.
