Description
This 1979 Porsche 911SC has been comprehensively backdated into an IROC/RSR-style restomod by Air Cooled Classics (ACCR) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Finished in Black over a matching interior, the car combines widened Turbo-look bodywork with a 3.6-liter flat-six sourced from a 1998 993 Carrera S, a shortened-bellhousing G50 5-speed manual transaxle, and a thoroughly upgraded chassis featuring Elephant Racing suspension and 930 Turbo brakes. The engine has been fitted with Fabspeed RSR headers and exhaust, a Protomotive DME tune, and a free-flow intake for a seller-estimated 330 HP, while the build also adds a Wavetrac limited-slip differential, RSR-style Braid wheels, butt-welded steel 930 fender flares, and a race-focused interior with a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, period-style sport seats, and a rear-seat delete. Fully disassembled and rebuilt to a weight of approximately 2,300 pounds, the build was completed this past year. Driven approximately 1k miles since, it is now being offered for auction in Tennessee.
The car wears a widened IROC/Turbo-look body with butt-welded steel 930 fender flares, fiberglass IROC front and rear bumpers, and a fiberglass IROC rear spoiler lid. It was refinished in Black and covered in clear paint protection film during the build. Details include H4 headlights with new light buckets and signal lenses, fold-out rear side windows, a steel hood with a center-fill fuel cap, dual Carrera-style front-fender oil coolers, a chrome mirror, tinted windows, black window and door trim, and vinyl graphics. It rides on RSR-style Braid wheels measuring 9x17 up front and 11x17 at the rear, wrapped in new Toyo tires sized 245/45 and 315/35. The car carries a rebuilt title, reportedly issued following a prior stolen-vehicle report. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
