Description
This 1980 Porsche 911SC began life as a Targa and has been converted to a slicktop coupe under current ownership. Finished in red over black interior upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.7-liter flat-six sourced from a 1975 donor and paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. Acquired in 2020 as a project by its current owner, a body-shop owner and painter, this example was subject to restoration and Targa-to-coupe conversion that was completed in 2023. This air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction in Canada.
Refinished in red around 2021, the car has been converted from a Targa to a slicktop coupe. Modifications include a period-correct Porsche "whale tail" rear spoiler, with the original tail included in the sale, along with 964-style mirrors, a backdated front bumper, lower front fog lights, and Fuchs wheels wrapped in Hankook tires from 2023 and 2024. The seller describes the car as presentable with original patina. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in black and features a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and power windows. The original radio has been replaced with a more modern Blaupunkt head unit, which is noted as functioning.
The car is powered by a 2.7-liter flat-six sourced from a 1975 Porsche 911, which the seller states was rebuilt before installation after the car's original 3.0-liter engine failed. The engine is therefore not original to the car, and its number is shown in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a manual transaxle. The seller notes that the odometer is jammed, so the car is offered on a true-mileage-unknown basis, and adds that it starts instantly.
