Description
Introduced in the early 1980s as Porsche’s front-engined, rear-transaxle sports car, the 944 paired a 2.5-liter inline-four with near-ideal weight distribution and became one of the brand’s best-selling models of the era. Finished in Guards Red over seldom-seen Cabury Brown interior upholstery, this 1984 Porsche 944 was originally configured without a sunroof and features a desirable 5-speed manual transmission. Benefiting from recent extensive service and showing approximately 64k miles on the odometer, this two-owner example is now being offered for auction in Georgia.
Finished in Guards Red, this slicktop 944 retains its original paint apart from the driver’s-side front fender, which was resprayed in correct single-stage Guards Red following dent repair after a reported parking-lot incident. The seller reports a professional paint correction and ceramic coating, noting a few small chips, minor crazing on the roof panel with a single small blemish, and that the factory stone-guard decal has been removed without leaving a shadow. A rear Euro fog-light conversion and PIAA LED amber front fog bulbs have been added, and the side windows wear an 80% tint. It rides on 15" wheels mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires from 2023 showing under 2,500 miles of use. The CARFAX reports minor damage in March 2024, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in Cadbury Brown upholstery, an interior shade briefly offered throughout the early 944 production. Equipment includes leather seating surfaces, a color-coordinated leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, manually adjustable front seats, and a locking glovebox. The seller describes the interior as clean and original, accompanied by a period brown sheepskin seat cover and a matching dash cover, while disclosing a sun-faded rear cargo carpet and minor cracks at the dash speaker opening and defrost-vent corners. A Continental Bluetooth head unit has been installed, with the original Blaupunkt Monterey radio included in the sale. The seller notes the passenger-side window switch and the mirror-selector switch are inoperable, leaving only the passenger mirror adjustable.
