Description
Created to commemorate 25 years of Porsche 911 production, the 1989 25th Anniversary Edition served as a fitting sendoff for the Carrera 3.2, marking the final model year of the classic G-series before Porsche transitioned to the 964 generation. This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 25th Anniversary Edition is one of just 200 Cabriolets produced for the U.S. market and one of only 160 finished in Silver Metallic. Built in November 1988 and sold new on August 28, 1989, through Campbell Motor Cars of Buena Park, California, it has remained in the care of the same family since 1991 and shows approximately 53k miles. Power comes from a 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six paired with the desirable G50 5-speed manual transaxle and an Anniversary-specific short-shift lever. Featuring long-term family ownership and extensive service documentation, this limited-production Anniversary Cabriolet is now being offered for auction.
The exterior is finished in Silver Metallic and is said to retain mostly original paint, with paint-meter readings provided in the gallery. Anniversary Edition details include body-color 16” Fuchs alloy wheels along with factory front and rear spoilers, while additional equipment includes headlamp washers, an intensified windshield washer system, fog lights, and a power-operated black cabriolet top. The convertible top, boot, and headliner were replaced using factory parts in 2002. Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires are currently mounted, with 2023 and 2024 date codes. The seller describes the paintwork and exterior finishes as remaining in excellent overall condition for the car's age and mileage.
