1997 Ford Ranger Splash Flareside EV Conversion 5-Speed

This 1997 Ford Ranger Splash Flareside pickup underwent an EV conversion undertaken by the previous owner from 2014 to 2019 with technical guidance and parts sourced from Electric Vehicles of America (EVA) based in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The build involved installation of a DC motor from Advanced D.C. Motors, a Curtis controller, and a battery bank made up of 20 Trojan six-volt batteries. Finished in Canary Yellow over Medium Prairie Tan cloth, the truck retains a five-speed manual transmission and is further equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes and 15″ steel wheels. Inside, the cab houses a 60/40 split bench seat as well as a JVC CD stereo and a 1500W heater. This EV-converted Ranger was acquired by the selling dealer— a BaT Local Partner —in 2026 and is now offered at no reserve in Springfield, Vermont, with EVA conversion documentation including a manual, correspondence, invoices, and calculations as well as a clean Carfax report and a Pennsylvania title. The truck left the factory finished in Canary Yellow (BZ) with a Flareside bed. Electric Vehicle decals have been applied to the fenders and removable tailgate. The selling dealer notes dents and scratches in the bumpers.
