Description
Vehicle Description 2004 Ford Mustang $44,000 "2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible ""High school. Some say they are the glory days. I hated it. The mean girls. The clueless jocks. The crotchety teachers. But most of all, I absolutely loathed muscle cars and the kids that drove them. Something like this Ford Mustang SVT Cobra would have been public enemy number one. Imports rule, V8s drool! Well maybe, just maybe, I was a little bit jealous."" Machineswithsouls.com, Nov. 2024 For consignment, a 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible showing 21,561 miles, but the true miles are unknown. Just 1,896 SVT convertible Cobras were produced in 2004 and behind the $500 per quart Mystichrome versions, black was the most popular with 392 being built. Exterior No fancy names for it, it's simply Black and it's a fitting on this muscle car as Grabber Blue was on the '70 Shelby version of the pony car. Perhaps best of all, it shows off the snake on the front fenders probably better than any color and there's no mistaking this one for a mere mortal GT, especially as you walk around back and note the Cobra stamping filled with chrome lettering. Flush tail lights with subtle black trim look especially cool here and a wide, LED third brake light is embedded in the spoiler, keeping things aerodynamic as possible. Up front, the snake fronts the open grille area with a lower intake flanked by foglights in the unique oval housing with intake holes that helps differentiate the face and looks darn cool. Air intakes are sculpted into the hood and the black cloth top carries a glass window with defrost. Imperfections include inclusions, chips, scratches, dull spots, touch ups, and chin scrapes. Interior Smooth dark charcoal materials cover the doors with the handle integrated ahead of the switchgear and a small storage bin provided with both doors presenting cleanly. Some typical compression and light wear is observed on the driver's leather seat with suede insert, but the passenger seat and rear 2+2 remain in excellent condition. Your eyes are drawn past the Cobra-embossed steering wheel to the white SVT gauges in the dash and immediately, a cool and confident feeling comes over you. The center stack is fairly standard with an AM/FM/CD player and Ford's three knob A/C panel with charcoal plastic that cascades down to become the center console holding the shifter in textured plastic that includes a set of cupholders. Dark gray carpet is protected by mats with an embroidered snake and along with the seats, the serpent makes four appearances on the inside. The fully finished trunk includes three satchels added to the deck lid and it all presents cleanly. Drivetrain The business end of this pony is the clean engine bay and the 4.6 liter DOHC supercharged V8 that resides there! This one includes the coveted belt cover and engine builder signatures while being tied to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. Power is routed to the rear axle of course, with TracLoc and 3.55 gears. No matter what brand you are loyal to, you can't help but be impressed with this engine and the roots style supercharger perched on top. Undercarriage Super clean underneath with the dual exhaust running through Borla mufflers and cat back system and exiting through branded chromed tips. Behind each 17-inch SVT Cobra wheel are disc brakes and the fully independent suspension includes coil springs front and rear. Drive-Ability We saddle up and turn the key, and the pony lets out a healthy grunt as we trot across the test loop only to discover its great power, solid handling, and comfortable interior. All functions on this well preserved Terminator operate as they should and it's back to the stable for this stallion. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. The further we get from 2004, the more desirable these become; analog by today's standards and as we were once clamoring for 65's in 1985, we can look to the mid 2000 era as a pretty good one for performance cars, and this clean Cobra is the proof! 1FAFP49Y24F106304 1-USA F-Ford Motor Company A-Passenger Car F-Manual Belts, Front Airbags P49-SVT Cobra Convertible Y-4.6 Liter DOHC Supercharged V8 2-Check Digit 4-2004 F-Dearborn, MI Assy Plant 106304-Sequential Unit Number DOOR STICKER EXT PNT UA-Black INT TR MW-Dark Charcoal Leather & Suede AXLE TE-3.55 TracLoc TRANS B-Tremec T56 6-Speed Manual Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!).
