This 2013 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP is one of 500 examples produced for the US market and was sold new in California. The car is finished in Thunder Grey Metallic over black upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four mated to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes JCW aerodynamic bodywork, an NM Engineering carbon-fiber intake, an M7 Speed turbo heat shield, a JCW shift knob and parking brake handle, heated Recaro seats, bi-xenon headlights, front and rear strut-tower braces, Bilstein adjustable coilovers, and 17″ OZ Racing wheels. Work performed upon the seller’s acquisition in 2020 included an oil change and installation of a replacement thermostat, water pump pulley, and front brake rotors and pads.
The car is finished in Thunder Grey Metallic (B58) with a silver roof and GP graphics and features a hood scoop, a rear diffuser, front lip and rear hatch spoilers, and red-finished side mirrors. The gas cap cover, hatch trim, and door handles are accented in carbon fiber, and additional exterior equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, brake cooling ducts, twin center exhaust outlets, Mini blackline turn signals, and tinted side markers.
Black-finished 17″ OZ Racing X Duell AG LM-23 wheels are mounted with 225/45 Kumho Ecsta V720 tires showing 2016 date codes. The car features Bilstein adjustable coilovers and the ride height is lower than the base Mini. Braking is handled by red-finished six-piston calipers over 13-inch vented discs up front and four-piston calipers over 11-inch discs out back. Service performed in September 2020 included replacing the front rotors and pads.
The cabin features heated Recaro seats upholstered in black leather with Alcantara inserts and red stitching. Amenities include a John Cooper Works carbon-fiber shift knob and parking brake handle, automatic climate control, a Mini Boost CD stereo system, Mini center console and extended arm rest, carbon-fiber door trim, aluminum pedals, red seatbelts, and a red-finished chassis brace in place of the rear seats.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel wears carbon fiber trim and frames a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. The centrally-mounted 160-mph speedometer sits above the factory stereo and features an integrated fuel level gauge. The digital odometer indicates 48k miles.
The turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-liter inline-four was rated at 211 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque when new. A strut tower brace spans the engine bay, and modifications include an NM Engineering carbon-fiber intake and an M7 Speed turbo heat shield. Service in September 2020 included replacement of the thermostat and water pump pulley in addition to an oil change.
Power is delivered to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential.
